This June, the Hospice Society of West Hants hosted another Dying2Know: End-of-Life Information Workshop in Nova Scotia. It was a truly meaningful day filled with thoughtful discussion, practical advice, and community connection.

We are grateful for the exceptional speakers who joined us and generously shared their expertise on topics that affect so many individuals and families:

  • Claire Prashad and Dr. Brenna van Tol from Hospice Halifax offered valuable guidance on end-of-life preparation and the importance of open, compassionate conversations.

  • Angela Blenkhorne from Bernie’s Buddies shared heartfelt insights on grief, loss, and the role of emotional support during difficult times.

  • Avai Kochanoff of AK Financials provided practical advice on financial planning and the steps families can take to feel more secure in navigating end-of-life arrangements.

This workshop created a safe and supportive space for community members to learn, reflect, and ask important questions. Light refreshments and meaningful conversations rounded out the afternoon, making it both informative and uplifting.

We thank everyone who attended for being part of this event. Together, we are building greater death literacy and encouraging open dialogue about life, death, grief, and healing.

Stay tuned for our next Dying 2 Know workshop, and join us as we continue to provide education and resources for the West Hants community.
